Crowned

Crowned

illusion art photography

This is totally my own innovative idea which was in my mind for several weeks. Once I did several photo shoots with using my mini tripod and got inspired to do this photo. This is also a forced perspective photo which leads the observer to think that the dude(actually it’s me) in this picture is trying to put a crown on his own head. But this is a 180° vertically flipped photo at first place. When it comes to its actual frame, we can clearly see that this is a “photo in photo” kind of photo. So let me take you through the steps I followed when taking this picture.

  • In here at first I took that photo of myself with that action of holding something on my head. for this I tried several shots with several actions and finally ended up with this.

  • Then I transferred that selected photo from my camera to the phone. In here I used Samsung galaxy A10 mobile phone which has besselless design which gave more mean to the final picture

  • And then I created the main apparatus by connecting the phone to the tripod( here I used yunteng mini tripod which comes with the yunteng monopod itself)

  • Here comes the game time. Then I opened that picture from the smart phone and zoomed it in to get the correct alignment of it with the tripod head to make it looks line the dude is trying to put that crown on his head.

  • Make sure that the brightness of your phone is at highest while doing this. Otherwise it will tend to give the reflections of surrounding objects in the mobile phone screen.

  • After that keep the apparatus on a flat surface where there is less dirt and take the tripod legs into a proper alignment so that the final picture has a good balance.

  • Then take the final photo by using a DSLR camera or an another mobile phone.

NOTES

Bokeh effect in the final photo tends to blur the surrounding objects and focus the observer’s eye on the subject. So it is recommended to achieve good bokeh effect in the final photo. If you’re using a mobile phone it’s recommended to use the portrait mode which is commonly available shooting mode in precent smart phones.

Taking all three tripod leg tips into the same level while taking the final photo is critical here
